The Eighties
Manhattan, smoked
Bourbon, sweet vermouth, applewood smoke, brandied cherry. Built in the glass.
The Nineties
Gin and the lateness of memory
Tanqueray, elderflower, cucumber, soda. Light, long, and slightly nostalgic.
The Aughts
Margarita, but adult
Mezcal, cointreau, fresh lime, ancho chile salt. For the brave.
The Tens
Negroni, contemporary
Campari, Cocchi Torino, Tanqueray Ten, orange oil. Bittersweet, like the decade.
